i just recently bought a e4od transmission for my 95 f150 5.8 seems to work fine ....
i also bought a code reader and did a koeo test and it pulled a few code
558
622
629
626 2nd test
could the codes mean i need solenoid pack or my plugs are not plugged in right or dirty?
What transmission did it have in it before?
If it was an E4OD I would say you have a bad plug on the passenger side of the transmission.
Pull the back cover off the plug and look at the wires going into the plug.
it had an e4od but it never shifted to 3rd gear or torque converter never locked up so i went and got another one from salvage yard...
the old one never threw codes like that i started getting the codes with the new transmission..
would it matter if the eec is from a 4x4 e4od?
Not as long it was from the same size engine of about the same year.
I would still look at that plug as can cause a lot of problems from the exhaust heat from where it is located. Make sure the heat shield is in place also over it.
ill probably have to clean the plugs it might not get enough contact with the pins ...
the truck runs fine shifts good but i just dont like the codes i get with my scanner i bought....the code only pops up when i do the koeo test they are not stored codes just when it checks every thing..
