well this 1990 ford truck will turn over but you have to jump the starter solenoid and there is no power on the small wire going to the solenoid
with the key in the on position replaced the ignition lock cyclinder and the rod going down the top of the column moves when switch is turned so i dont think thats the problem any help would be great
when you turn the key to start position, do you feel resistance and does it pop back to run? if not, the ignition actuator in the top of the column is broken.
another way to rule out everything else is to remove the ignition switch, and using a small screwdriver move the switch to start position. if the truck starts it is the actuator.
the ignition switch has resistance while turning it and it does spring back a little bit and i can feel the rod move when i turn the switch and when i try to push the square end with a screwdriver nothing happens
if auto trans, make sure the shifter is in neutral or park.
of stick, make sure clutch is all the way down. if no power to solenoid small wire after manually working the switch, the next step is neutral safety switch on auto or clutch interrupter switch on stick.
