I have signal lights and flashers working, but no back up or brake lights working.
Could this be the switch on the tranny? , and if so.... How does one replace it?
Check that you have power at the RED wire going into the brake light switch. If you do, make sure the brake light switch has continuity when actuated.
The reverse light switch is on the transmission. The switch is one possible cause of failure, but check that it has power first. The WHITE with PURPLE stripe wire leading to the switch should have power anytime the key is in RUN, regardless of gear.
O.k ....after monkeying around with brake light switch.....they work now! Hopefully not a broken wire with intermittent connection.
I will have to pick up a new voltmeter as my son the " magician" can make any tool disappear. Usually the one you need the most. Then I can test the neutral safety switch wires.
If replacing the NSS is necessary is it a hard process or pretty straight forward?
