b pillar trim
I gotta 2006 Mountaineer that has the gloss black trim that runs up the pillar post. So all 4 doors have a trim piece on it. I also have the keyless entry. Well the trim on the drivers door (with the keypad) has become swirled(I don't know how) to the point of really bugging me. The other ones have some very minor scratches but look good overall. Anyway this driver's one has a spot right in the middle where it is swirled real bad and wax doesn't help. I have read in some other places about guys removing them and sanding them down and repainting. I don't really want to do that. I did a search for new ones but the only thing I can find is the pieces you buy that stick on over the existing trim. I found those in chrome and piano black. I would go with the black. They aren't terribly expensive but I am hesitant to go with them because I don't know if they would stick out too much and look weird since you are just sticking them on top of the other ones. I wasn't able to find an actual new trim piece like what is on it. That is what I would like, is a factory trim piece to take the old one off and put the new one on. Does anyone know where I can find them??? I was hoping maybe someone else had dealt with this issue. I know those pillar trim pieces fade and scratch bad. And is anyone running the stick on type?? Are they really noticeable? And do they hold up good??? Thanks!!
