clutch safety switch problems
Well I have scoured the forums looking for the answer and it's just not resolving it. Hard to start, I have to find the secret spot with the clutch peddle to engage the starter and it's still not a quick start. The best spot is about 1" off the floor. I can jump the relay and get a response, so the relay is good? I have replaced the clutch safety switch twice. First time there was a tiny bit of improvement for maybe two starts. I have found that the connecter does not hold the green wire snuggly and I have pushed it in better. I have jumped the first two wires. I only had one red/blue wire, not two. The other wire is white/red. It seemed to work to bypass the clutch, but something else is off kilter. I am replacing the starter because I have worn it out with these hard starts.
I saw a post talking about a third wire needing to be jumped. The green wire? It's listed as a, stop lt sw in the book. The symptoms are confusing and I just can't work it out. The master cylinder was replaced a few years ago by PO and there are not problems with weak firewall. It shifts just fine. I am at a loss and have to get this resolved before I am truck less.
Thanks
I know the company F450 has issues with clutch switch. Have to wiggle the pedal a bit sometimes to get starter to work. Used to be on the floor, now you have to raise it just a touch off the floor. Works everytime, just have to move it slightly til it does.
