The truck is in my sig. I took the dash out to get to a vacuume leak in the ac and to paint it. After taking it out I ended up needing to move the truck so I re-pluged in all the wires and grounded all the ground wires. Turn the key on everything's fine and works, turn it to start and nothing. Not a tick like the batteries dead not a constant crank like its not getting spark. No sounds at all it just won't start and it's got me confused. Any ideas?
Then the cause is the solenoid, just a weird coincidence, but please humor me: unscrew the solenoid from the fender and leave it hanging overnight from the wires, then screw it back and try starting the truck. You could try it right now if possible.

The trucks too loud to do that now but ill definitely give that a try later on
is it an automatic?the shifter may just not be completely in park.
i see this so many times it is not funny any more.
i was given a 94 cougar because it would not start and no one could figure it out.
i went with the trailer and picked it up. when i went to put it in neutral to winch it up on the trailer, something did not feel rite, so i ran the shifter down and back into park, started the car and drove it on the trailer.
my niece put another 120,000 miles on it before it fell apart.

It's a stick but that happens with my grandpas truck all the time I know what you're talking about
ok, with a manual trans the clutch interrupter switch is all the way up top and a biatch to get to.
i would try eliminating a few other things before looking at the clutch switch.
take off the lower dash panels, and drop the steering column a bit by loosening the 4 bolts holding it to the dash.
then reach in and unbolt the ignition switch from the column. if the switch physically looks ok and is not separated between the plastic and aluminum housings, use a small screwdriver and slide the switch to see if it will start. if it does, than the actuator in the top of the column is bad. if it don't start then you need to dig deeper into the clutch switch, or a burned out fuseable link.

Dash is out to be painted tried the switch with a screwdriver it didn't work and looks in good shape checked all the fuses they're all good so where's this clutch switch?
