Now all I have to do is run power to the inertia swith, run fuel lines, install bypass regulator, fuel filter. Install choke cable, new throttle cable. Install carb, install dizzy... And more stuff.
Just for your edification, I cut up a good head just to show what you are dealing with.
The first shot shows the inside of the casting through the casting plug hole. The little hole stops in that blob of cast iron, but the big hole goes right on through via a drilled passage - all the way to the front, where it is usually plugged with an adapter that provides threads for accessories to mount on.
The second shot shows a cross-section of an exhaust port. You can see all the way through the hole that you plugged on the other end. And you can see how the air that was injected blended with the exhaust gases. Further, you can see how restricted the exhaust ports are on the smog Wheezer heads. The red shows where I ported to on another set of heads and got better exhaust flow.
awesome. I appreciate the education. I knew if I was willing to pull the engine I would be able to see what I am doing, but I am glad you are willing to post up this stuff.
