Hey all, I seem to be more of a taker than a giver on this GREAT sight! Hope you all can forgive me! I'm needing a brake fluid reservoir CAP for my '02 250. You guessed it, making a brake breeder vs. buy one for almost 3 times the cost of making one plus mine is set up to hook straigt to my shop air vs. having to keep it pumped up. Yes, I do have a low pressurer regulator on it. Everything is done, just need the cap? The "Stealer Ship" wants $22.00 for it Heck, I don't have that in the thing as is sits now! Tried all my local parts stores with no luck, can't even get one? Auto Zone, O'Reillys, Advanced. Tried local auto salvage yards as well, again no luck Anyone have a way out for me or is my next stop the Stealer Ship? As always, I sure appreciate all your help and direction
Corey, I picked up a WHOLE brake reservoir, cap and master cylinder (for another member) from the Gold Mine for $30 a few months ago. Hollar at them. They are now a site sponsor, and they have what you are looking for in spades. Hi Tech Auto Parts, or look for the Gold Mine thread. They specialize in Ford SD parts.
Tried my local salvage yards with no luck. Guess the Stealer Ship is going to be my only hope? Hate to abort the mission, everything is plummed, fitted and done. Just need the blasted cap! This seems to be one special little cap............
I have not tried it on this particular issue but sometimes a cap from a juice bottle or some such will fit. Just need to find the correct configuration. ( Cap from Tobasco sauce bottle fits the vent on the red plastic 5 gal gas cans )
Great info Mr. 17!!!!!! Never thought of anything like that! I just need a good seal due to having about 7 PSI of pressure pushing fluid.............. Thanks!!!!
IS the m/c cap different from a gasser around the same years? I have a '97 Thunderbird and never have compaired the cap to my truck's cap........IF its the same I'd bet that lots of Fords from the era would fit....
