i need some trans help!!

I have a 92 f250 just replaced the valve body now sometimes it shifts right but no overdrive when I slow down sometimes it won't come out of high gear and the overdrive light is flashing

why did you replace the valve body?how does the solenoid pack plug look?
do you have a code scanner? if not,pick one of those up.you need an obd1.then list your codes.

The guy I bought the truck from really made a mess of it he tried to port it with a drill. The pack looks okay where is the plug for the obd1 scanner at? I've been looking but can't find it

whats the engines idle speed? how long has it been since the FIPL/TPS has been changed? do you know the idle/wot readings on the sensor? (code 23.)

the 3/4 shift issue (code 69) may be a result of a failed/incorrectly set FIPL/TPS. did you also change the separator plate? and or,know that he didn't drill incorrect (size/location) holes in that too? (assume he did.)
