On my '97 Powerstroke I had a couple small mods and I was planning on going full out with Banks untill the 6.0L came online.
There is atleast one thing that I want to do is get boost and EGT/Pyrometer gauges for my truck. Have any of you had any nice clean installations that aren't ugly and distracting? The '97 had them smack dab center of the dash in this ugly housing. I was thinking of putting the new one's on the pillar, but the handle is there. Any idea's?
I also want to look and see what kind of advantages with bigger exhaust. All I had done on my last truck was the bigger down pipe from the turbo to the cat. What's out there for the 6.0L and is it worth it?
My truck will eventually be used to haul boats up and down Donner Summit when I get out of the Navy. Right now, it's just around town and help people move, but that's the ultimate goal. Thanks for your time...
Well there are some performance options out for the 6.0 but there limited. I know bully dog has some sweet chips out that add over 100 horse but there like 700 dollars. as far as I know there arent any downpipes available just cat back systems right now.
I think that I'm more intererested in the exhaust and air filter. I had a K&N on my old truck and would like to have one on this truck. Anyone have the type or size needed?
I did look around and did find that AFE has a filter setup for the 6.0 but it looks kind a cheesy. They made a round box that looks like the factory unit but it encloses a free flowing filter inside it. Since I'm a fabricator, as soon I get some time. I'll be making a polished aluminum 4" intake system that will replace all the factory rubber tubes and finish it with a K&N cone filter. Also in the works is a 4" downpipe. I keep everybody posted. If anyone has done anything to their 6.0 I would like to hear about it.
