so I was cleaning up the shop and found a food grain center dash cover that says "ranger xlt" on the top of it. It looks to be in fair shape but I was wondering what was on the ranger package? I never seen one and I dont know much about it. I hear members on this site talking about the ranger package. Is this a desirable item?
The Ranger XLT was the second highest trim level offered from 1980-1981. Ranger Lariat was the top of the line trim level.
Ranger XLT's featured color keyed moldings behind the seat, carpeted lower door panels, unique seat trim, Ranger XLT script on the radio bezel, woodgrain trim accents, color-keyed full-length carpeting, and a few other small optional items.
That bezel is the same bezel used from 1980-1984. However, that special Ranger XLT script was only used for two years. The bezel looks to be in okay shape, but it does need a good cleaning for sure. The fact that it hasn't been cut up for a new DIN style radio makes it a little more valuable. It also doesn't have the clock cutouts. That could make it more or less valuable depending on the buyer and whether or not they have/want a clock.
As for what it might be worth, I paid $45 shipped for the *mint* Ranger Lariat radio bezel in my truck. So I would imagine yours could fetch about $30 if it cleans up nice enough.
