Dave- do you know if Flowmaster makes a dual for the 4.2L? Wife told me she looked, she's a truck buff too; anyway she said she scoured their site and didn't find any for it.
I HAVE FLOWMASTER 40 SINGLE IN (2-1/2" ) DUAL OUT (2-1/4") .
FROM WHAT I HAVE READ YOU DO NOT WANT TRUE DUAL PIPE ON A FUEL INJECTED ENGINE .. TRUE DUALS DO NOT CREATE ENOUGH BACK PRESSURE AND YOU WILL LOSE A GREAT AMOUNT OF TORQUE .. I PERSONALLY LIKE THE SOUND OF THE FLOWS ..
also check out the exhaust system forum there is alot of info on systems for 4.2 v6. i know flowmaster make a complete set up for the v6 it is called the force 2.. checkout the motorhaven.com
site it runs about $330.00 plus installation.. i payed $265.00 installed for the flow 40 delta si/do ..
What is everybody's opinion on the flowmaster setup? I have heard from a lot of people that they are a horrible company to go with. I do not know specifically why but that's just what I've heard.
V6's sound good at idle or low RPM's but when you start hitting higher RPM's you begin to tell that it's a V6. V8's have more of a roar but the V6's have more of a buzzzz when you give them gas.
