Anybody try replacing their bed bolts with the more modern ones?
I'm boxing my frame these are off a 1999 and up super duty I'll have to go measure the bed cross members on my superduty, to see the length. They are 12m so like 1/2" bolts. I'd also have to mount the clips or change them to nuts.
ok found lengths online so I dont have to crawl under superduty 6 bolts 5 1/4" and 2 bolts 4 1/4" . I ll have to check how long my bolts I took out were.

Reason: found super duty bolt length
Thanks yeah like I said think they are a 12m. Not a problem on my truck probably should put its specs in my sig. 1969 short bed short bed 9k miles, but just using the body from that, 70-72 frame, 1980 rear housing, 73 9" nodular center, 99 explorer rear brakes, 88 blazer 31gal rear gas tank tank, 98 cobra t-45, 2013 coyote, 2006 crown vic front cross etc. So as is, I need both SAE and metric wrenches to work on truck. but I do need to buy a tork plus 45 for the new bed bolts. The bolts all the way in back will still be 69 ford
I have been reading nightmare stories of bolts seizing over in the superduty section, maybe heavy on the anti-seize, or make a large enough slot in boxing plate to put a new clip it back in. Just have to decide new dorman bolts or used ford?

I never suggest aftermarket stuff if Ford still available. But I agree with the anti-seize.
