I'm long overdue to at least partially replace the KR upholstery on my 2001. It's been awhile since I've been looking for OEM parts; can anyone recommend a source for these items?
If they're too outrageous, I can consider going to a conventional upholsterer's.
I have not seen complete interior recovers, but complete seats (front and rear) sets go for $1500+ on e-bay. I have seen the drivers seat bottom on e-bay for $295. They also supposedly offer complete seat packages if you contact them.
Look at a local leather shop and ask for Castano Leather (what comes from the factory) if you want the same look, or just ask them for samples.
You can also look at local yards and Craigslist for regular leather seats for much cheaper.

Thanks for any input...
Checkout Auto Upholstery | Leather Seat Covers | 3rd Row Seats | Home page. My wife used them for her worn leather driver's seat in her 2005 EB Explorer. It was an exact color match and factory fit. She was even able to order it with perforations for the heated seat.
Thanks, Whimsey...did you guys install it yourselves, and if so, did you have to remove the seats to do so? That looks like a big job (using a BIG wrench).

My wife and I did it. Taking the driver's seat out was not difficult, though this is on her Explorer. They have a video that shows you the steps. Check out their site. They even told how to clean the rest of the leather seats to look new, Scrubbing Bubbles and a stiff brush. It worked! Her leather seats look all new. Can't even tell she replaced the driver's seat.
I have a '06 KR and need to replace my front seats. I really like the KR look, but in reality, they're the sorriest leather seats any manufacture has ever produced. You constantly have to clean and treat them mainly because you cant touch them with the slightest bit of sweat on your skin, and if you do they'll turn black and crack up. Isn't there something that looks the same without all the drawbacks of the original leather?
