cannot turn off A/C

Just got off the highway from a 3 hour trip. Had the vents on. Now when I went to turn off the vents. My A/C automatically goes to defrost. I cannot turn off the fan. I turn the auto climate control. All's as it should be but cannot turn off the A/C when I push the off button. Going out to look at the truck now.

Any suggestions?

Do you electronic 4-wheel drive? Sounds like it. One side prob has a leak at the inside of the wheel.....It's a hose from the vacuum pump located on pass side fender.

Yes I have the ESOF. My 4X4 is working correctly. Because if the A/C is on and I switch the 4X4 on my A/C still working through the front vents and not through the front defrost. I was out for a drive and fond that it's not the A/C I cannot turn of but it's my blower motor. It seems to be stuck in the high speed. I cannot even turn the speed down to minimum.
Hope it's something simple.
Does anyone know what fuse to pull just till I get home next week and start diagnosing?

In the fan box there's a set of resistors that are prob burned out. Easy repair. I think only 2 screws hold it in the blower box (under hood).

After reading some old posts I think it might be the "Blower motor speed controller". Think it is located under the hood on the right side firewall/fender area. Could any confirm this or supply a good picture of this part?

What about disabling it till I get home. Anyone know off hand the fuse to pull?

Fixed her. I don't know what happened but on the third morning I started my truck, and the blower motor responded like normally. Go figure.

Yup, these symptoms are typical of a failing resistor. The symptoms will surely come back. I had the same symptoms and ended up replacing the resistor, no more issues. Matter of time, known problem.

Heres a couple of pics of mine showing location and replacement.

My resistor part number was 6C3Z 19E624 AA. Tousley Ford has it for $70. Again, good luck
