When I go into regen I always caught it, the message shows up for the entire time of the regen and I feel it. The last regen was around 1600 km's minimum, perhaps around 2000 km.
I did my scan again no codes of any kind.
My fuel economy spikes so it's hard to really determine if it's related.

If your message is staying on the entire time in the main message center you do not have the latest flash. I'm not suggesting to get it or not but what it did was build in some lower parameters for shutting down the engine when the fuel is fowled and a couple other things. I think it was called 11B23 or something like that. If you will dig around on the forum you can probably find it. My guess would be that it came out in 09 or 10. Ford sent everyone a letter I think.

I finally went into regen going up a hill at 4k rpm this week. It's odd when I first got the truck the message was on the whole time, this time it just flashed. Any ideas on that?

Thanks again everyone for replying to my post.

I would suggest that the brief message is the norm. Mine would stay on every once in a while. I never did get a pattern figured out but it seemed that the message would stay on when the DPF was most in need of cleaning. IE: I had caused a couple attempts to be aborted due to traffic or arriving at a destination. Like I said you can ask the dealer to check and see what version flash you have. If its the 11B23 (or something like that), the norm would be the very brief message which is very easy to miss. If you don't have that flash you would be wise to look into it. one of the things it did was reduce the parameters for shutting down the engine due to problems that can cause great damage (very expensive repairs). If your under warranty I would say a catastrophic failure warranty claim could be denied if you do not have the latest download. That's just a guess on my part but when the repairs get up over 10 Grand I wouldn't take the chance. Hope this helps.
