charging problem

charging problem

So my truck stopped charging today. After going through the steps, I find out that the alternator is not getting the keyed power source . Any one have any ideas? Thanks
Oh and is a 93 150

Yep, check the brushes for wear, if that isn't the cause then replace the regulator. Of course, before all this check all the wiring related to the alternator for corrosion or loose ends.

The Green/Red "exciter" voltage wire is fed through the ignition switch to the instrument cluster then onto the alternator. Some have found a simple open bulb will prevent voltage from making it to the alternator. There is supposed to be a shunt resistor, but I have seen a few of those to fail too.
