6.4 Rattling and smoking
#18
Hey Guys,
Sorry I have been slow to reply. It has been hectic around here. I have not had time to pull the turbo yet to inspect it, but I have done this. As I said, I have the intercooler off of it so that i can clean the oil out of it. I disconnected the VGT, started the truck and engaged the turbo and the sound definitely changed. I am pretty sure that I also picked up the original rattle that I noticed in the beginning. also, the intake hose on the intercooler almost sucked my arm off when I got a little too close to it! just a friendly little heads up for everyone. I think you could lose a small child in there. Ha Ha. Anyway, I am pretty sure that my problem is a blown seal on the low pressure turbo along with a bad bearing. I will post updates when I get the turbo off.
