Regarding replacements.....
Regarding replacements.....
Ok I hope this hasn't been answered. All the stuff, head studs, oil cooler, egr, everything but the fluids and oil. If the motor has not had those problems, do you need to replace all that stuff? Or is that better safe then sorry, or buy 100k, warranty has normally updated those issues all ready.???
No you do not need to replace these parts for no reason. Most just upgrade parts if they have a problem and upgrade things while they are in there. Lots of 6.0's are getting tons of miles without the upgrades. Just use caution when running high horsepower tunes.
Most things are noticed with digital monitoring long before it's a major problem, however...
The Blue Spring is cheap and an effective mod for the fuel system health.
For 05+ engines I would recommend the updated STC fitting. When it goes it goes, with no real warning. The HPOP issues are usually caught ahead of time before it's a serious issue, like standpipes and dummy plugs.
Everything else, (at this moment that I can think of) is more of an as needed basis.

Well there are a few threads like yours here, but like you, I wanted to do what is good preventative work, so not to get stranded on a trip or worry about the wife on a girls trip, but not replace the engine just 'cause it might fail in 500k miles or so.
I have an '07 so the answer for me might be different for you, but I stopped at head studs, as in I don't think I need to have that done as a PM item, and likely not ever. So for instance: once you say you are going after changing out the EGR cooler to a bullet proof style one, you start looking around and saying: what don't I want to have to take off twice since I didn't do that when I had the chance". I thought my oil to coolant delta temp. was getting high (likely it was fine), so then I got in deeper, etc.
Mine's pretty much in my sig. I couldn't do the hard work so found a good shop that could -- I paid west coast prices too... The truck is a beast and I love it
A few more things I want to do and some camping is in order (life gets in the way sometimes...), fishing, eating,
Best thing I learned in the last 6 months was about monitoring what is going on with the truck. It is both powerful and can make you paranoid, if you are holding too close to the "right" numbers. But then again just reading forums on our 6.0s can make you paranoid. The knowledge (data) is truly power, as in freeing you from worry...
