97 7.3 Napa filter and exhaust is only mod.

Hard starting hot or cold. Motor spins over great batteries in good shape.

Sometimes it starts normally, sometimes it will spit and sputter and try but not start. Sometimes it seems to start on only part of the injectors, runs rough as snot and I shut it down.
Doesn't seem to matter how long the time is between startups. I can crank it, it will start right up... shut it down and it will act up.

I replaced the cps several years ago, going to get new one anyway.
Hot or cold same issue so it doesn't seem to be gp's or gpr.
Plan on checking starting fuel pressure this week end at filter pot.

Where else would you look ?

Unplug all the UVCH plugs and check for burnt pins. Also sounds like could be a sticking IPR, but I'm not sure how you would check that.

 

X 2 on this, a bad pin can cause the IDM to shut one bank off to protect it's self.
