Ok folks......
I leveled my tailgate the other day. Sits nice and flat now. Hovever, the tailgate now sits farther to the left than the right. I would say 3/16" to 1/4" difference in the two. Is there any adjustment for this direction? Or is it time to break out the rubber mallet a.k.a. "the whomping stick"?
Thanks in advance.
Keep up the good work mods.
And good choice on putting Rock over the 3.0 forum. He is a good guy and does a great job.
I assume you're talking about the WHOLE tailgate here, because the bedsides do have a tendency to bow out a bit, and leave an uneven gap at the top....
Anyway..
You can try just putting a shim in the hinge cup on the tight side (might take a few tries to get it right) until it's where you want it.
It worked on an F150 at one point, don't see why it can't on our Rangers..
