TRC - Surge Guard

I purchased a 30 AMP Surge Guard recently and installed it in my 5er. It went well, BUT - as was surfing the TRC site to learn as much about the product as I could, I found that I had purchased an older model. I guess that was the reason for the "great" price. Mine did not have the remote that was talked about on the TRC/Surge Guard site. So, I emailed them asking if I could "upgrade" my model. I got a return email to contact their Customer Support person, Kerri. I called her and she questioned me about the model I had just installed. She was quite alarmed that I was able to buy this and suggested that I return the Surge Guard back to them and they would send me a brand new 30 Amp Surge Guard, gratis!! No charge, except for my shipping to them. This, I think was above and beyond the manufacturer's requirement!

The Surge Guard was shipped to them today and am looking forward to receiving their latest and greatest!

If anyone has a requirement for a voltage regulator or Surge Protector, I highly recommend that they purchase a TRC model. The company certainly stands behind their products!

That's interesting as I just purchased one of these as well and installed it on our 5er. I do not have the optional remote or any way to add it. Did you purchase the 34520? If so, I'll be contacting TRC as well anyhow about 10 seconds after I send this out.

Interesting, glad mine is built into the unit already. This is so important to have goes right along with a pressure regulator for the city water connection.

From what I see on their website the remote LCD is optional unless they have it packaged as a kit somewhere. I look at the, a lot, but never bit yet. Never have the extra coin when I see them.

Yes, that was the model I sent back. The new one is the same P/N but it has a prefix -02. How long ago did you buy yours? I bought the one I sent back only a few days before. What did Keri at TRC have to say?

I haven't heard back from her yet, but the one I have was purchased a few months ago and just installed in early May. No big deal if they wont modify or replace it as this model is on thousands of other trailers. I just thought if I had the remote, I could add that read out next to the new holding tanks SeeLevel digital read out I'm about finishing installing (Saturday) and while the breaker box I'm installing it next to is hanging loose.

I'll post the gist of any reply, phone or email

Good luck...I don't know if the new one was even out yet back in May. You

may, however, receive a nice price to replace it with the new one.

I'll be anxious to hear their response......
