torsion bars for towing
was using a family members truck to haul some wood (wont say what kind but it wasnt a ford) and it had torsion bar suspension. the first thing i noticed with a shortbox full of wood is that the steering was really light on pavement and downright scary on gravel. this is much different than how my f150 handles the longbox and a trailer full of wood (small 5 by 8 trailer) and my f150 has coils. my question is how do you guys like towing with torsion bars and how do they compare to coil springs or even leaf springs

i have had it happen to me in a dodge dakota ( i know i know) and a chevy 2500 "heavy duty". they both had bars underneath and i hated towing with them which is why i am glad my 92 f150 has coil springs and the factory overloads to help from taking weight off the front
