I bought a Ts6 chip from a friend who is selling his truck. I know I will have to have it reprogrammed. I am just not sure now if I want to install it. Do not like the thought of having to mess with my pcm. Also do not like the ideal of duct tape to hold the chip in place. Has anyone had issues with this style chip ? Also, if I were to sale it what would be a fair price ?
What part of Texas are you in? Out West you won't have anyone close, but other areas have one of the tuning masters nearby. If you're close to one, they would do the install for you. Or perhaps a fellow member wouldn't mind helping you with the install.
If for some reason you sand the contacts too far trying to do it yourself, that just means you can't put a chip on there unless you get the contacts re-tinned. Your super chips will still load up and work fine and the computer will work just fine without the chip as long as you don't leave the key in the ignition when you're messing with things.
