Finally getting around to putting an engine in this project. I got some great advice last year from HT32BSX115 and others. Refining that advice I am trying to figure out the following:
1. Where can I buy a running 8RT? I do not need or want a hotrod. Truck will likely be a light duty delivery truck and neighborhood head turner. Not planning on going to any local car shows.
2. If I supplied the block and all other engine parts what should I expect it to cost me to have someone (other than me) rebuild it to stock?
This truck has a two speed differential. Everything is in good working condition including steering, brakes, trans. The engine I pulled out it was seized. Once I got it apart it had hairline cracks mid-cylinder. These can probably be sleeved.
1) the only place you'll find a running 8RT is another ford truck / parts truck / about to be a parts truck.
question between 1 and 2:
If it is running, why do you want info for #2?
2) Ross C most recently did a rebuild on his - he would be the guy to ask since his wallet is still smoldering from the burn. (He is an AZ member, so figure a bit for geography).
Ross did all the work himself except machine - take his figures and double em if the machine shop is willing to do all the labor.
If you are going a total rebuild anyhow it doesn't have to be running... I know where there are several in various state of assembly/dissassembly - some I would risk if it was my money, some I wouldn't touch.... but they are a long ways from you in Colorado, surely a "classic" junkyard closer to you would have something... google for junkyards, classic junkyards etc and weed out all the high profit places (the 90 day short life yards).

Brian, if you're talking about Ross ALBUQ F-1 (and I think you are), he's in New Mexico, not Arizona.
If you're just wanting a local driver, and your only stipulation is that the engine runs, you can sometimes get lucky and find them pretty cheap. I bought a running flathead out of a 1952 F-5 about a year ago for $500. I checked it out and watched it run prior to the guy pulling it. He wanted a big block to haul gravel, etc. I didn't say it was perfect, but it ran well.
FYI, the engines for the trucks had the designation of "8RT", but don't be mislead or discouraged if you find a truck engine with "8BA" heads. The car guys hate to admit it, but Ford didn't get around to consistently putting "8RT" heads on their truck engines until about 1952 or so.
