393 efi build?

The straight six in my truck isn't really cutting it power wise for me and I plan to buy a complete 351 out of a 95 bronco, put in a scat 3.850 crank, stock 351 rods, 302 .30 pistons, gt40 heads, stock truck intake, and a custom grind from compcams. I am shooting for like 9.5-10-1 compression, 350+ft lbs at low rpm and be able to pass emmissions in pa. If anyone has any advice on how to achieve this let me know.

Your aiming WAAAAY too low.. if you put that 351 in just as it is with longtube headers on it you'll exceed those torque goals and a 393 is gonna make 100ft/lbs more than that. The problem you're gonna have is making a stroker run on the stock truck EFI system, fueling requirements are gonna be higher at all rpms so you're gonna need MAF for sure and if your truck has a computer controlled auto that limits PCM choices.

Here's a dyno sim for a 5.8 with stock cam and 1.7 rockers, GT40 heads and longtubes and a 393 with the same. The 5.8 has about 9:1 compression with those heads while the 393 is a touch under 10:1..9.89 to be exact. With the stock truck intake on these motors you won't get the horsepower shown.. both combos will run into a wall at 3500-4000rpm so don't expect more than 250-260hp, but low rpm torque should be even higher.

Better check those PA smog regs. Hasn't PA adopted the CA standards? If so, you be hard pressed to pass with that set up. I didn't go all the way through their site, as it was a new vehicle purchase question.

Those only apply to 2008 and up vehicles.

The truck has a m5od, which will be replaced by a zf5 before the swap or after the m5od blows up.

I definitely plan on maf.

I am building this for a wheeler so lots of low end torque is good, but the truck is also my daily driver so I like to have a little power at the higher end, since I am a typical 16 year old kid and I like to stomp it from time to time.

since your driving a 96 f150, locate same year truck out of a wrecking yard with either a 5.0 or 5.8 and grab the motor and entire wiring harness/sensors/computer and swap over to your truck.
