Trucks in my sig, if you've recently been following my build thread since she was wrecked you would know a little more back ground info... but this truck is not a daily driver... my question is about removing the a/c all together.. I want to know if I can remove the condenser, heater core, all the stuff in the upper left hand corner of the engine pay and the pulley... But will this also delete the heat? like would I be able to defrost my windshield or no? the only reason I would do this is to make more room in the engine bay and not have as much to replace from the wreck..
The condenser goes in front of the radiator, the evaporator is inside the heater box. I'm not sure if the non-ac heater box is smaller, however if you want heat you need to leave the heater core in there. Removing the compressor just requires a delete pulley in most cases. The heat will defrost your windshield, however defogging it will not be as efficient without a/c. When in defrost the a/c is running, which removes moisture from the air. The warm, dry air is key to defog the windshield (think cool rainy day).
well the only reason im saying this is because the condenser has some damage, and I don't know if I have to replace it or not but its 200$ if I do... can the truck run fine if the condenser is messed up?
You can remove the condenser, compressor, filter drier, and the lines. Install an A/C bypass pulley(usually available at your local Advance, Autozone Pepboys, Orielly's, or NAPA). The Bypass pully allows you to remove the compressor and still use the same belt. Leave your Evaporator and your Heater core alone. You will still have heat and defrost in the winter. As said before it will take longer to defrost the windshield because the air will not be dried, only heated before passing over the window.
The A/C condenser has nothing to do with how the truck runs, only how well the A/C works. If it is messed up and you do not want to remove anything then just leave it where it is and you will not have A/C

Must be nice. Here in South FL, if you don't have the A/C to dry the air, you can blow all the hot air you want at the windshield and it won't touch it. If it's real humid (raining) it'll make it even worse... lol.
Yeah up here in Va we usually only have really bad humidity for about 2- 3 months a year(June, July, and Aug) and it really has not bee too bad at all this year
