MY truck runs a little rough taking off and idling if i give it a little its not smooth.
I believe that is injectors. But now going down the road it starts cutting out like it wants to cut off but it doesnt. If I put the truck back to stock programm it doesnt cut out but it still runs rough. My questions is do you think the programmer is the culprit or the injectors? I have sct with tunes by eric for over a year now. 430k stock ficm and turbo
As a follow up, why would you think it was the programmer if you have had it for over a year and you're just now experiencing this issue? Hopefully someone will chime in and tell you more about what it is.
Sounds like some testing is in order. Contribution/balance test wil zero in a particular cylinder(s) that may be causing issues. Dealership can do this or check your local FTE chapter for someone with AutoEnginuity on a laptop or snag it from RiffRaff for about $350.
The bubble test can help isolate injectors if they are leaking cylinder compression back into the fuel supply system.
Fuel pressure test will check HFCM and regulator for proper pressure. Speaking of that do you have the updated (blue) spring in the regulator? I'm not a fan of throwing parts on a vehicle for troubleshooting but I would make an exception on that. It' inexpensive, fairly quick and easy to install an has several benefits.
FICM voltage ok?
Batteries load tested?
Have you tried fresh fuel filters? They may be up to date/miles but a bad tank of fuel can trash them.
Yes have blue spring also my trouble started after cheap fuel I replaced the filter. I have great batteries. Don't know about ficm. And I going to let a buddy from ford ck injectors Monday.
