Dana 60 hubs
Quick question. how are you supposed to lube the hubs? When I got it, the hubs would not unlock due to P/O never unlocking or cleaning them. I just took them both apart, cleaned and reinstalled and was wondering if I should put something in (I did oil them when installing, just not full).
Truck is not running, so it's not a huge deal. I plan on putting new hubs in, repacking the bearings and changing seals later on when I can put a lift on it. Right now I just wanted to free it up so it's easier to push around the yard (ever try to push a 4x4 Scab backwards on incline while front wheels are locked. :P ).

All that is suppose to go in there is standard wheel bearing grease. But to break up all the rust a little more 80/90 wont hurt it.
Come axle rebuild time (I am sure you will) make sure you replace the hubs inner press in grease seal. If the axles are grooved a bit ck into a "speede sleeve" repair.
Did mudrat ever get you a set of doors?

Gear oil will just pool up in the bottom of the hub and get "flung" outward as the wheel spins, not lubricating where it's needed, as where grease will "cling" to the hub, axle, gears, etc.
