C6 vacuum modulator, stripe question
I'm in the middle of "refreshing" a very leaky C6. I found the vacuum modulator to be full of fluid so a new one is in order.
Question is this, everywhere I look to order one they want to know the color of the stripe. It is the push-in style but there is no stripe that I can see on it anywhere, or part number, or any other means of identification. (I'm thinking it's already an aftermarket replacement?)
I see some posts that say use "this" color and other posts that say use "that" color but none of the applications seem to be close to this one. I'm not looking for performance modifications or anything special, just a stock replacement modulator and don't know which one to get.
This is for an 87 E-150, 300 inline 6, C6. No towing with it or anything extreme, just the occaisional trip with the 4-wheeler in the back or a PA system for the band.
Thanks!
1987 FORD E-150 Governor / Modulator
An adjustable green-stripe modulator gives a broad adjustment range that I found good on 351W's; shift characteristics with an I6 may be slightly different. If necessary, a black-stripe modulator will give later upshifts & earlier downshifts than the green-stripe.
