I was reminded of this last evening as I was puttering around my shop...
Buy a length of pipe insulation (the foam type that's split the length of it) and cut a piece a little shorter than the handle of your floor jack. Wrap it around the handle and jack as hard as you'd like without worrying about chipping the paint on the vehicle as you swing the handle upwards. Should be standard equipment on all floor jacks!

When you use the system email function your email address is not visible to a user that wants to contact you unless you reply back to them.
I was in the NAPA store the other day, getting a new set of rotors for my Expy, and I saw that they had a floor jack on sale, and it already had the insulation...
I put one of those on my Snap-on jack about ten years ago!!
I bought a rubber cap that goes over the jack plate on my jack but it didn't work very well. I would love to be able to find/make something made of solid rubber for my jack to replace/cover the jack point. I like to protect the undercarriage finish when using the floor jack. Does anyone have any suggestions?
