AE, Interceptor, Insight...
While Infinity and AE (with a laptop) need bigger Buck$Zooka rounds than Insight and AF, they do offer bigger secondary explosions. If you have a bunch of kids playing stickball in the street, you're not gunna know who broke the kitchen window unless you were watching the whole game. Same principle here - Infinity and AE can monitor and display many more PIDs at the same time than the other products you mentioned... as well as record all of it. It's like the difference between watching the stickball game through a paper towel roll, vs. setting a wide-angle video camera on the scene to record it.
I'll give an example: In order to know if an HPOP is responding properly, I need to see the demand (TPS, MFD, or VFD), ICP, IPR, FIPW... and EOT is a good add-on. Can you memorize the combinations of the readings while your foot is introducing Matt to Pedal?
Another example: Say I have high EGTs under certain running conditions. I need to monitor the EGTs, MAP, EBP, FIPW, ICP, IPR, MPH, and RPMs to untangle that knot. Can a regular OBDII gauge even display that number of PIDs? I know I can't track all those PIDs while driving.
My quest for asking is, because i have a catastrophic mess of wires under the dash. Its ridiculous.
I even used trailer wiring, to help keep it clean...So, i want to rid the g.s. gauges and get 2-pyros, and the AF..(still think its cool ,and have the readings at will, with their add-ons). Reason...i'm getting feedback on especially, the fuel pressure and eot gauges, when moving the wires
But, take in consideration, the AF IS NO replacement for the AE...
