I have 33x13.50 tires which most alignment places are saying won't fit on the machine. A place where i live that specializes in lifted trucks wants 110 just for a 2 wheel alignment. That seems like a lot to adjust a drag link and a tie rod. So my question is can i put stock tires on and take it to any old place or will the alignment change once i put the wider tires back on?
I don't believe anything will change as the adjustments are made to the chassis.
I went from 285's to 305's and nothing changed. I have an alignment machine so I do them myself, but the measurements before when I installed the 285s were the same as when I checked it after I did the 305's and it was almost 2 years since the alignment.
I'm going between 275's and 325's so its a little more of a change but I think it should be alright. They said its $90 if I put stock tires on. Does that sound more reasonable? I could swear an alignment used to be only 50 or 60 bucks
if you didnt do anything to add a lift or a level kit and ONLY changed tires then your alignment should be fine if it was before. The only thing to do is make sure each new tire and wheel are properly balanced. Lifting, lowering, or changing parts in front end are what triggers an alignment.
I did get a lift. What I'm asking is if I can get it aligned with stock tires to save money and then put my bigger tires back on and still have it be straight, which from what you guys are saying I will be fine
You are fine now without the alignment...lifts are done on the sprung side...alignment adjustments are made on the unsprung side, independent of each other.
I recently did a track bar, tie rods, ball joints on my truck. I had to throw the stock wheels/tires back on for the alignment. Afterwards I went back to my BMF wheels on 33x12.50's. No problems and yes you will be fine doing the same.
