I just did today the upgrade to the 3G alternator from the 2G, besides the common quick chirping to be addressed later everything went fine. Got all the information in this great forum.
After a road test I noticed noise and it's the AC compressor, runs fine when engaged but when turning AC off looks and sounds like sticking, the clutch seems not to disengage completely.
I'm wondering if there's something to try besides replacing.
Question 1.- Can I spray electrical cleaner to try to clean clutch?
Question 2.- Could I use a serpentine belt for a non AC truck and leave the AC compressor off until I can replace?
