Good morning all, happy Tuesday! Another hot one today! I'm going out at 8:30, over across the river, and participate in our emergency siren test. Basically, I go out and make sure the siren works. Yeeha.

Butt soaking....Is this some kind of weird New York therapy thing?

I hope you have a tablet, or wireless lap top with you. This could really effect your post count

Morning Phil, Charlie! I'll have my phone, so I'll check in from out there. Charlie, I'm taking the locking hubs apart on that 79. After getting the cap off (by drilling the heads off of the damn hex bolts, I got the lock ring off, and the lock assembly out. Then, got the first spanner ring threaded off. But, there is a ring in there, with a bunch of holes in it that I can get out. I thing it threads on to the spindle, but I can't figure out how to get the damn thing off!

Dammit. I'll have to see what it is when I get out to the siren on my phone. Hey, maybe I'll stop by the parts store on my way back to the plant and pick it up!

What sucks, there are 3 of them.

You have a dana 44. You can go to advanced, or auto zone, tell them it's the socket to remove your wheel bearings on front hub. costa about $14.

I have several spares, but shipping would cost more than the tool

You need to go to Jeff's bronco graveyard, and get the mile maker hub kit when your ready to put it back together.
I did the 94 for $99

comes with a stainless steel hub, shims, and lock washers/nuts.
You still use the same tool you have to buy

Black takes a similar tool, but not the same one, so the answer to that question is NO

Is it a big honking socket like deal? I have that if that's what your talking about. I just can't get that stupid ring with all of the holes out. I'll check out the pic here shortly, getting ready to leave here in about 5 minutes.

Tough job, but somebody's gotta do it, right Pat?
