hey guys, good news! I thought I had a bad throwout bearing, slave cylinder, etc, etc.... turned out to be a bad u-joint on the rear driveshaft!

No doubt! $30 for 2 u-joints with lifetime warranty, couldn't be happier I was prepared to spend $300+ on a new clutch kit, throwout bearing/slave cylinder, resurfaced flywheel, etc... Now all I gotta do is change out a u-joint.. Decided to do both while I was at it.

The other one is still good, I will just save it as a spare in case I break one doing something stupid

The one that is bad is the original sealed u-joint.. I couldn't believe that with 198k miles on the truck!

I think I got about 170K out of the ones on the 97.

That's good news Brandon. With the money saved you can????

Got TS fixed on the 86 found a section broken underneath the cab where the insulation was pierced with a test light. Probably when the hook up for the 5th wheel was done who knows when.
