Is this already on here somewhere? Or am I just blind with the search....i did use the search didnt see it. I would like to leave the tranny in place and do this if I can. What is " tool No. T78P-3504-N" that somedata is talking about using?
oh and reason for trying to just replace that is that the only code I am getting is a MLP sensor voltage to high or low....634.....or is that something different since i have a e4od...i see some-data says something about " MLP Sensor out of range;A/C on (E4OD)"...though my A/C is/was off during test
Block the wheels and set the parking brake. Put the trans in neutral. Remove the nut that holds the shift lever to the shaft on the driver's side of the transmission. Remove the lever. Unplug the wiring harness from the TRS. Remove the two bolts that hold the TRS to the trans. Pull the TRS off the trans. It often sticks.
Install the new TRS on the trans. There are alignment marks on the inside part that rotates and the outer shell. Make sure they are aligned and tighten the two bolts. Plug the wiring harness in. Put the shift lever back on and install the nut.
