91 explorer
Hey guys I'm wanting to get a 91 explorer and do a solid axle swap with dana 60 in the rear and dana 44 in the front. I know the v6 will hold up while rock crawling. I'm also wanting to put lockers in but I can't decide between Detroit lockers and grizzly Yukon lockers. It's going to have a 6 inch lift nothing too tall I just want my axles off the ground and the 37s I want to put on too have room to travel. But what would you guys recommend for lockers.

You'll need more than 6" to have travel with 37s, and I'd be concerned running those on a D44. 35s are pushing the limits of the D44 axleshafts and universals when wheeling, it would be much better to run a D60. On the other hand, an early Bronco D44 should come close to lining up under the Explorer.

Thanks man ill get 33s in stead and just do a dana 60 rear and front. Yeah I thought about doing a bronco I might do one after the explorer. Could you tell me what lockers i should use I would really appreciate it man.

Check this out. As for the locker, I think at the end he talks about air or electric vs. full time, which makes sense if you ever want to turn corners on hard surfaces. Lots'a work, some surprises. Pics get better about page 3.
