New injector help

Hey guys, I'm need some of your expertise and experience.
Sat I installed 2 new injectors. #'s 4 and 5. Changed stand pipes and dummy plugs. Changed the oil. Rotella 5/40 sull synthetic.
Started the truck and let it settle down, you know, get the oil flowing. Took the truck for about a 8 mile test run. Interstate, surface roads, the whole bit. Truck ran like new. Took it home, parked and shut off. 20 mins later had to move it and #5 is missing again. It was late so I left it for Sunday. Sunday took the truck out for a run to see if it would work itself out. First 20ish miles misses and then it opens up and back to brand new for the remainder 20ish miles back, park the truck thinking all is well. Monday start to go to work it starts nice and idles perfect for a couple minutes and back to missing. Ran like crap all day, never got better. Where do I go from here?

05 250 6.0
Stock-no tuners
171000 miles
Well maintained, oil, filters and such
EGR delete

Thanks for your time.
Joey

When you installed the new injectors did you clean the hold down bolt holes
and then blow them out so that they were clean and dry? Any oil in the bottom
and the bolt will reach toque too early. The other thing did you clean the cups and
make sure that the old copper washer was removed? Last when you put the injector
back in the new copper washer needs to be in place along with new O-rings. The O-rings
need to have some new clean engine oil on them so that they don't get stuck and rip.
The last thing to worry about it was the proper toque used on the injector hold downs.
Using the old german torque (goodandtight)just does not cut it.
Also check the wiring plugs to make sure that they are seated fully. That could be it
and if so it's an easy fix.

Post back what you find.

Thanks Yahiko
I blew the holes out and checked them.
Yes the washer was removed.
New washer and o-rings and they were oiled, used white lithium grease, I'm concerned that might be an issue.
24 ft lbs on the hold downs.
Checked the plug this afternoon.

What kind of injectors did you put in? Motorcraft or someone elses?

New Jersey Diesel remans. They come with a 12 mo unlimited mile warranty. I've contacted them and they said they will cover it if it is defective.

And they will determine if it's defective??? Did you ask them if they put new spool valves on the injectors because most likely that's your problem?

Just ask them what I asked you. If they say yes then ask where it came from because AFA I know Motorcraft injectors are the only ones that come with NEW spool valves. Basically it's a trick question.

npcc-Thanks for the info. I certainly will. Do you think its worth cutting my losses and getting a Ford reman. I plan on going back in Sat. This is where they came from --> Injectors and Phones

cheezit-Thanks for checking on me, means a lot coming from you. I feel better now.

Check the wiring harness well. They are well known to go bad.

Job complete! So far so good. She runs great so far. Took the same test run and let it sit while cleaning up. Started back up and runs good still. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for all you help. The "bad" injector will be going back to where it came from. I'll update on that too.
