Let me start by saying I love my truck its a F350 crew cab dually. I maintain my truck religiously with OEM filters. I do use a fuel additive do to where I live and the extreme weather changes from time to time mainly to keep water out of the fuel. I do not do short trips in my truck 30 miles minimum. Yes there is the occasional short trip use. I have put a bullitproof egr cooler on do to a better design compared to OEM and just replaced the oil cooler. I have replaced the exhaust back pressure sensor in it and it drove fine for a year when I started having some of the same issues so took it back in and found out the FICM was bad so it was replaced. Had it back for about two weeks and now im getting that familiar chug and the Autometer boost gauge going crazy. So I have problems with my electricals and seem to keep taking it back in to be told the same thing and replacing the same sensors. What should be my next step. Im not looking to get rid of my truck I will drive it untill the wheels fall off kinda like I did with my 97'. any one with the same type of issues?
Do you have any Gauges to read live data, like scan gauge dash boss etc, its a must for our 6.0 health, the Map connection to Intake will be sooted up, also clean the IAT2 senser its behind the upper fuel bowl, you said that the EBP senser is new, how about the tube and port in the manifold is that cleared no build up?
The only gauges I have are pyrometer which I have never been over 12k, trans temp, and boost. The info you have given me i will check. Thanks for the response. I have also read that having a 270 volt alternator is a must as well. Also should I put battery maintainers on my batteries for when Im not using it. It sits most of the winter should I start and run it at least once a week while its sitting?
Thanks for your help.
bismic its a 2005 and the codes that have come up have been corrected but after awhile the same ol problems re-appear. From what I have read on this sit it would be best to pick up a scangauge II. Does it come with a reference guide so I know what im looking at with the gauge. Thanks for the response.
