Tire and wheel question

I really am not up on this so I will ask all of you.

I have an 06 F350 4X4
What is the stock wheel offset and what sizes did they come in?

Sean: can't give you offset until I measure it. Minimum diameter was 17" starting in '05 MY due to brake rotor size and factory went up to 20". I believe all were 8" wide.

I'm not sure it seems most tires on these trucks are 265 /285 75 r16 as long as the tire doesent rub the inter wheel well. Not sure right out of the gate stock, it seems like the tires were a little lower

Like Scott said, 05+ had the bigger brakes and used 17", 18", or 20" wheels and they were all 8" wide with an 8x170 bolt pattern. Offset varies from 38 to 44 depending on what wheel it was. Your truck with a leveling kit could probably pull off a less aggressive setup than mine but when you have a lifted truck with stock offset and backspacing it makes the wheels look really sunk into the wheel wells. Also, the factory 8" wide wheel will limit how wide of a tire you can run. My 4.5" Rough Country lift suggested a 17x8 wheel with 0 offset and 4" of backspacing with a 35x12.5x17 tire. I just opted for a little more poke and a bigger wheel.

I was under the assumption that offset was the distance from the frame to the rear wheel hub at a common measuring point on both sides

Well while we were at the Washington Chapter meet for the Western side
of the state. I found out I have 18" rims. Now to check out other things.

Yea, your truck has the same wheels that mine came with. The 20" wheels are optional.

I don't even know if I would like the 20"
I am not into the tiny rubber band look on the wheels.
I also am not going to get bigger tires mine size wise are just fine

I think the 20's on the stock tire size looks good, but when you're doing a meaty tire I think the 18's look better, not to mention they are quite a bit cheaper.

Is there such an animal as Safe and cheep?
I bet not. Cody I like your wheels but will have to
stop in the local dealer and see what they have.

Side note looks like I need a new degas cap
I am seeing a little bit of white dribble and the cap
leaks on the tester at about 5 PSI.
