Dodge 8 Lug Wheels

I have a chance to buy some nice 16 inch 8 lug rims and tires for my 77 F250. I just need to be sure that rims that are coming off a 2006 Dodge pickup will work. I know the bolt pattern is 6 1/2", but is the center hole big enough and will the rim offset cause any problems. In other words, well a 2006 Dodge 8 lug rim fit a 77 Ford F250?

Thanks.

IIRC: Ford wheels will fit Dodge and Chevy because they have the largest hub bore, but Dodge and Chevy don't always fit Ford (smaller hub bore).

I would measure them if I were you.

Use this: Wheel Bolt Pattern Cross Reference Database and Conversion Guide

Your query result will show the hub bore diameter.

Hio, the problem with the chart is the hub hole. The Dodge hub hole is 4.8228346" while the Ford hub hole is 4.9173228" and when I measured the hub with a tape measure I get 4.870".

The math shows the Dodge hub hole isn't big enough, but in doing web research I get the idea the Dodge hub hole will work. That's why I started this tread. It was my hope I would get an answer from someone who has done it or someone who has seen it done.

Of course the other way to check is to try to fit the wheel on my truck, but that won't work (long story).

Thanks.

Like I said: Dodge and Chevy usually do not fit Ford.

If you know someone at a machine shop, they can open them up though.

OK.

IIRC, FTE user F100today runs Dodge 20s. Look him up.

I have put the 20 inch dodge spares on my truck with no issues. That includes a drum front end and a mustang II front end. I would suggest that if you have the time; run to the junk yard and buy one of these dodge wheels to see if it will fit. Since this is f-250 stuff; I can not directly answer your question. Or, worst case, buy them and if the hole is a little too small, have it opened up. you could probably do it your self by scribing the line then using a rotory file on a die grinder. Then have the wheels and tires rebalanced. Sorry I could not help more. More than likely, the offset will be very close.

When I messaged you I saw the F100 but didn't make the connection about F100s having five lug bolts.

I did go ahead and order some 9.5R16.5s for the front wheels for now. That will buy me time to find some used 31X10.50R16.5 tires, which is what is on the truck now and they are to me what looks best on the truck.

However, I hope the question about Dodge rims working does eventually get answered.

Thanks to everyone for your help.
