This is throwing me for a loop. My '92 F150 has an '88 302 and the injectors that came out of it were an E5 1985 part number. Apparently there are some with '85 part numbers, '86 part numbers and others, and I have no idea which I really need. Any ideas? Every injector was crumbling apart so I'd like a brand new complete set.
Yes the pintle caps broke off on most of them and the orange plastic is cracked on one. I noticed you used the DRI style, I gotta ask, did you notice any improvement in efficiency? My '92 makes, not joking, between 25 and 30 MPG highway, so if that can be boosted even more I'd be extremely happy. The only problem is, I don't think there are any vehicles around here in salvage yards that are on your list that I could pull them from, so if I were to buy a brand new set, what would I ask for? '97 Crown Vic with a 4.6? Are the injectors the same capacity and do they match the original style?
Also, if the cracked orange plastic won't cause any problems, I may just rebuild the originals. The upper intake on this truck is the original '92, but the lower intake is '88 AFAIK, if that makes any difference in what style injectors I need.
Thanks for the help guys, dove in pretty deep to refresh this old truck and just need it back on the road!
