Does anyone know on an early 99 2wd SRW if I'm to re-use the OEM rubber mount bushing that pass through the frame at the top shock mount when installing Bilstein shocks up front? That darn thing seems to be in there permanently and the Bilstein shocks came with their own rubber two piece bushing.
Do I cut out the old rubber? I see no way to reinstall another one piece bushing in there if I cut the old out.

Any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks,.

The OEM bushing should be a 2 piece, just like the Bilstein pieces. Never done shocks on the front of a 2wd SD, but have yet to encounter a vehicle with a one piece bushing installed in the top shock mount.

I actually am certain it's a one piece on my truck. The front suspension is very different on the 2wd trucks. I just re-used the stock bushing and it worked fine.
I love the Bilstein shocks. The truck rides a Whole Lot Better! Now I need to get the rears replaced with Bilsteins too after I save up a little more cash.
