For the girlfriends SC we got some from WeatherTech that go in the window seal not taped to the outside. They look really good and I wish that I had gotten them on my SD. They don't stick out very far at all (can barely see them from the front of the truck)
I have the Weathertech's as well on my '00 CC w/ TT mirrors. They slid right into place, front and back, and have been great every since. I went with the dark ones they offer instead of the smoke. I don't remember having to 'clip' the reas though. They were easier to install than the fronts.
When I put mine on, I really had to SHOVE them behind the mirror trim to get them in. I even had the mirror loose per the instructions that came with the kit.
I don't have the TT mirrors, but the instructions that came with mine had a section just for the TT mirror install and said you had to loosen the mirrors a bit to get the visor's edge under them (just as others above mentioned).
Mine just pushed under the "sport"mirrors w/o a problem, but it was rather tight.
Thanks alot! I actually went by a 99 F250 that was for sale. It had TT mirrors and the vent shades on it.
What I've found is that the ones that mount on the rubber part of the window instead of the paint seem to fit better with the TT mirrors. only a little bit has to go behind the mirror.
Seems like the ones that fit best are the Ventshade Ventvisor models.
I'll stop by the store tomorrow and see if they're in stock so I can size them up.
I know I'm making a big deal out of almost nothing...but the things only 46 days old to me! I feel like I had another kid! Ya hear a noise and JUMP out of bed to see if it's ok...
I think you are right about the Ventshade brand being the best fitting ones. Although I do not have a set on my truck (yet) I have a friend with a 99 and TT mirrors and his fit great and he said they were a breeze to install.
