Smile Replacing captain chairs with bench

Hello,

I have a '03 Excursion XLT with front captain chairs/bucket seats and start thinking about swapping in a bench from a F-250 or other Excursion.

Has anyone an idea about the effort? Is there drilling required?

Thanks

Michael

Its a bolt in. 99-13 Superduty seats fit.

Look for a jump seat. Same effect as having the bench, but will be cheaper since you can retain your seats and ditch the worthless console

I have a bench seat tan leather and would like captains chairs and am willing to trade. Do you have tan leather?

This is an epic idea IMO. I really wanted to do this in my EX as well but didn't think the fronts were as easy as bolting them in.

Did any super duty trucks from 99-13 come with black leather?

no, the seats are in grey cloth, I like the cloth better, especially in Winter up here in Ontario.

You don't have bucket seats up front?

Remember when you ditch the console, you'll have to rewire your rear speakers. Most people forget...

luckily I don't have a console in it, it's just empty space. I guess the police had something custom there instead.

Thanks for the suggestions I will look into it

If you have the console with the audio panel, the 4 rear speakers are split there. Disconnect the panel, no rear audio. This also causes issues with aftermarket decks that are not capable of handling a 2ohm load, the sound from the rear speakers will be weak. Some people just disconnect the rearmost set in this case, turning it back into a 4 speaker system.
