fuel sending unit fix?
Hello,
I have an 03 f350 4x4 cc long bed and I seem to be having a problem with my fuel gauge. It doesn't show the true amount of what's in the tank and because of that I have run out of fuel a few times.
sometimes when I'm driving the light will come on and the gauge will drop all the way to empty then a little later it will go to almost full even with only putting 10 gals in the tank.
Anyone have a fix for this or do I need to replace the sending unit?

finally got around to working on my truck and ended up dropping the fuel tank. I had dirty and poor contacting contacts on the sending unit in the tank. I cleaned them and gave them a little more tension and it seems to be working great so far.
