Ron, the warranty had just expired. Yep a bummer. My 02 7.3 had 200000 miles plus when I sold her!! never did replace anything but the belt twice, batteries, and brakes, boy what a truck. I do love this one though, just hope this isn't the beginning of bad things to come.
Mine was bad from day one. A/C would not work at idle but would work going fast enough for air to cool. New clutch under warranty the first week I had it, still good!
