I haven't looked at those links yet but I'll bet they used an aftermarket block for those builds, the stock 5.0 block is only reliable to the 450hp naturally aspirated level give or take, super high rpms, boost, and nitros that push power beyond that level will produce mains walking and block flex and sooner or later it's gonna let go in spectacular fashion.

I don't know how much power those engines put out, but they were both using stock blocks. I do remember that Sixto was advised to keep it under 6000 rpm. Chucko uses his for road racing, which he's done several times with the engine (that I knew of). I haven't spoken to either of them in a long time, so I don't know what the condition of the engines are after some use.

Yeah after looking at the links it appears they used the stock block. It's entirely possible those motors "only" made around 400hp and that's perfectly fine and would be reliable.
