i just picked up some x codes. has anyone tried to use them with add a leafs?
i ask cause i plan to raise my dually up a bit more. i dont want to lose my towing capacity. i currently have a drop shackle level kit & add a leafs. rides firm.
i searched the forum and cant seem to find x codes plus add a leafs. thanks in advance.
I have add a leaf springs on mine, don't remember what brand as it was 12yrs ago. I'm thinking of puting on just the x codes. I don't recall what code mine are without going out and looking at the door sticker, but you might need a helmet with the combo you contemplating.
Jim.

You will ride too high in the front in my opinion. You will look like one of those sand rigs raised in the front with Cali plates...
it already does. and i dont like it. i have the srw blocks i want to install. they are alot taller than the drw's. my fear is that it'll be too high in the rear, so i went out and found some xcodes out of a f450
my x codes raised it 2-3 in . I thought it would be stiff but its not rides smooth real nice
are they a whole spring package? the "x" codes i have are a pair just like on my dually, and most other superduty's i've seen. meaning: i cant tell the difference. umm. my dually only had 2 leafs before my add a leaf went in there.
i have no stock ride height trucks to compare with. all my buddies have some kind of something level kit done to em.
Not trying to hyjack here but can someone tell me what the different letter codes mean? My door sticker is gone & I had to replace my rear springs because one side was busted. Didn't order from the parts store using a letter code, described them & they got me the exact same thing. All I know is they have 7 leaf's & are rated for 4400 lbs. I'm kicking myself now wishing I would of done more research because these seem WAY too stiff for my setup. I weigh 230 & can jump on the rear bumper & the truck doesn't even budge!

I bought the C code dually rear springs from Ford. If I remember correctly they are rated at 6600 lbs total. I can push on my bumper with one hand and move it. That's exactly why I don't like most aftermarket springs. Way too stiff most of the time. Mine are progressive, no weight and they have a nice ride, butt you can load them down and they can handle a LOT! 7 leafs on yours, if I had to guess, yours are rated at 4400 lbs each, 8800 lbs total. I believe mine only have 5 leafs.
I think if you do a search here you can identify your springs by a stamped p/n.
Unfortunately, no. There is no definitive cross-reference information for the stamped numbers on the springs. There is some anecdotal information that is hit and miss when it comes to identifying springs via those stamped numbers, but nothing hard and fast. Even Ford has nothing in their computer for all the numbers that are out there.
Steve at Tousley Ford has said every-so-often he get's lucky and is able to ID a springs using those numbers.

yup to everything stewart said. i just know these came off an f450. if this ends in...(teeth rattling gut punching and cursing)disapointment, it's not the end of the world. i'll save my lunch money and try again. then i'll try to sell the wife on those american force semi deals and the suspension to go with it}
...$#!^ *@% 6.4's have them coils in the front, arhhh. 6.4's oh so dreamy

you are not hijacking (though you are prolly on a govt. watchlist for saying that)
all my buddies have suspension work done to their rigs yet none of them could tell you what they paid for(more into what they tow than what they use to tow it).tow rigs not daily drivers, to each's own.
